testimonials

In 1980 when I first opened the doors of my photo lab in NYC my goal was to provide my clients with consistently high quality products and a level of personal service unmatched in the industry. We quickly acquired a reputation for delivering on our promises of great work, on schedule. With success came a long list of noteworthy clientele including The Today Show, Saturday Night Live and Tommy Hilfiger. Prints produced by me and my staff were published in Forbes, Fortune, Sports Illustrated and Town & Country to name but a few.

Relocating to OKC late in 2001, my wife Kat and I opened Red River Photo Services where we are carrying on our commitment to deliver the best there is to offer in our industry. We will let the following testimonials testify to our success.

When I wanted to print my new impressionist images, The Jerusalem Collection, I called on Red River Photo Services. Both Leighton and Katrina were professional, cared deeply about the final images, and most important, they went the extra mile to ensure all my passion for this new style surfaced to the viewer's eyes and heart.

It is a rediscovery of one's work, after it is scanned and printed by master printer Leighton Kirkpatrick. I was amazed at the brilliance and clarity of these images, even though they are first generations from my transparencies. The images never looked better. BRAVO to Red River Photo Service!

I have been very pleased with Red River's work, Leighton really works to make sure the colors are as good as or better than the originals. He and Kat provide good quality services, promptly and at a competitive price. I am pleased to have them available in Oklahoma and enjoy working with them.

The original 30" x 40" oil painting, "Rope for Hire", was exhibited at the 2008 Prix de West at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. It was scanned using our 16 bit digital capture system and reproduced to original size on canvas.

The first thing I love about Red River is the contact sheets. Leighton makes wonderful contacts. I never have to say to my clients "It's only a contact, the real print will look so much better."
Then there is the print. Leighton gets the color right. I never have to ask to have the print made warmer or darker or whatever. If Leighton has a question in his mind how it should be, which is a rare occurrence, he does a version of both and shows me. I love the prints.

There is the not so small matter of perfection. All prints that leave Red River are perfect. No dings, no spots, and he's quick! I almost forgot the turn around factor. I never have to wait days for my prints. Perfect and fast. It doesn't get any better than that.

Over the course of my twenty years as a fine-art photographer, I thought I'd seen some great color printers. But once I came upon the formidable talents of Leighton Kirkpatrick, I immediately saw that his abilities and craftsmanship surpassed the best-of-the-best. Leighton is unequivocally the finest color printer I've ever had the pleasure to work beside, who possesses an incredible "eye" for precise color-correction in issuing forth the nuanced requirements necessary to achieve a high-quality fine-art color print. I recommend him to all photographers looking to bring their prints to new levels of excellence. On the human side, he's also a great guy and a pleasure to work with-- an important trait in these days of depersonalized service.

I have worked with Leighton for 24 years and have always been satisfied because of his devotion to producing the highest quality prints on a timely basis. He is easy to work with and always understands my needs. When he left New York and moved to Oklahoma I was skeptical that we could continue doing business but that proved to be baseless. I FedEx my negs, which he now also scans for me, and he promptly FedEx’s back a perfect job!!!

I have been using Red River Photo Services exclusively to photograph and produce giclée prints of my late husband's (Don Ray) paintings. In my estimation, Leighton Kirkpatrick, is an artist in his own right, because he is painstaking in his efforts to accurately reproduce the images, and will re-do until he "gets it right." He is ably assisted by his lovely wife, Kat. Their services are friendly, accommodating,  prompt, affordable, and most importantly, of the highest quality.  Without hesitation, I would thoroughly recommend Red River Photo to anyone wishing to acquire the finest photographs or prints available.

I have been working with Leighton for over 20 years. He was the best printer in NYC. I wouldn't trust my portfolio or my personal work to any other lab. I wasn't happy about him re-locating to Oklahoma. Replacing the quality and service was not an option. I send all my work to him. He has mastered the digital world and continues to do all my portfolio prints and scans. The work and service are flawless.

Red River Photo Services has brought to the Midwest the sophistication of New York Fine Art printing. This outstanding task is made even more impressive when you consider what Leighton Kirkpatrick makes possible for the artist to acheive. Leighton brings to the artist the skills necessary to compete on a national level. He works one-on-one with the artist to ensure the desired outcome is achieved. In my experience, Leighton provides me with a service I cannot find elsewhere in the region. His treatment of my images have resulted inprints of excellent quality and often exceed my expectations.

I use Leighton Kirkpatrick's photo reproduction services - and have consistently now for the past five years, even though he is located quite a distance from where I live and work - because he is simply the best. His interpretation of my works' coloration and texture is always on the mark; and the quality of his product is top notch.

We have been producing the Native American Art Calendar for several years, each year the main dread of the production was getting the images shot at a quality that leaves the printers with the least amount of work to do and most important - getting them to the quality and color of the original paintings. As a perfectionist with our product, I had tried several photographers and businesses trying to find that person who was able to hit the colors and textures in the images. Three years ago, an artist suggested that we take a few images to Red River Photos, to see if they could get the quality, we were looking for. I picked the two most difficult painting to be shot, one with many vibrant colors many of them self created by the artist and another that had wonderful texture and color. The following day, I received a call from Leighton - he had it finished. I was not expecting what I found when arriving. The colors and texture on both was exact, I could not believe this. I was sold!! Finally, someone who had the talent and passion for shooting art! Leighton now does all our shoots and I have sent all of our artists to him for Giclees. The quality of his work is not only breathtaking but his prices are great as well. With an art gallery, quality is very important, Red River Photo is perfection and they will not release anything but the best quality. When placing his Giclees next to the originals, it is hard to tell the two apart. This is the quality I had been searching for – the work and attention to detail that Red River puts into all they do, makes my work at the press much easier and relaxing! Thanks Red River!
